Where is the access at kingswood? I was there yesterday where the old sign used to be in the parking lot but it wasn't groomed and conditions were terrible.
ReplyDeleteI ended up going to Kent and it turns out this is where most people are still going anyways because they don't want to ski through the golf course because it's too open and conditions are rarely good -- unlike the woodlot which is always amazing. Maybe we should give up on grooms the Lian st. access and just make it a walk-in trail.
Thanks for all your hard work.
Having been in via Lian street a week ago, we wouldn't recommend even walking it. After we fought out way back out, about four cars showed up with people looking for the entrance (the sign's not very visible), and we told all of them to try Kingswood. I can't imagine any amount of snow or grooming would make the Lian Street entrance good.
DeleteWe couldn't find the entrance at Kingswood, either: the woman at the desk sent us to the construction site entrance, which is even less pleasant than it was last year. There isn't, as far as we can tell, any approved access to the woodlot that we'd recommend.
DeleteThe Kingdwood access is just to the right of the lodge. (The lodge is the building with Sam Snead's Grill.) There is a Wostawea banner. The skiing from there is very good.
DeleteUNB Woodlot trails are in excellent shape and well mapped.
