I just came back from the Woodlot. Skied the whole thing except Kent road and the Beaver Pond loop. Conditions are generally good, though coverage is thin and there are a few rocks poking out here and there, especially on the Kingswood side. Glide is a bit on the slow side because it's new snow, but not bad. Should be better tomorrow, after it's had a chance to set up overnight.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ski this afternoon, thanks for track setting!
ReplyDeleteConfirmed moose sighting on Kingswood trail, which parallels the highway, on Friday evening Jan 9th at 8pm. Classic tracks in great shape in the woodlot - skate surface rather soft. ..Milda
ReplyDeleteHi Guys,
ReplyDeleteWondering where there best access is to the woodlot, I don't really enjoy skiing around Kingswood.
Kent entrance excellent on Saturday Jan 10 pm, also saw tracks coming in from both New Maryland Hwy entrances.
DeleteToday I considered adding a Kingswood loop to the woodlot trails I had done but I got worried about busting a ski on the mogul-like connector. Would it be useful to get a group or shovel-wielding skiers together to try to fill in the depressions or is there not enough snow for that to work? I'd be happy to pitch in if it would be useful.
