That's it for the season

We've decided to stop grooming for the season. While there is still some base in the Woodlot, the trail in from Kingswood is bare and we could damage the equipment trying to get to the Woodlot. And even if we did get it in, the quality of the skiing would be fair at best. If we get another big dump of snow, we will reassess.

  1. Thanks for making it the great season it was, given the limited amount of snow! You groomers never cease to amaze me with how you make something from nothing:-) Cheers!

  2. I agree. You folks did a great job given the conditions. Does anyone know if it is even possible to skate now?

  3. I was in on Saturday afternoon...it was sketchy at best. Lot's of base but it was icy/hard. If you hit it on a warm day, you might get lucky; otherwise it's pretty hard!

  4. OK thank you very much. Hard to believe we may be done for the season before the end of Feb :(

  5. Thank you to all the groomers who dedicate numerous hours volunteering so that we can enjoy our winter. You are fabulous.

  6. Thanks guys, awesome just does not cover it. The trail conditions that we have enjoyed, despite the little snow, were great. And I do not think it (winter) is over yet. Skiing is still possible when the surface warms up enough as the base is still pretty much continuous around the big loop, with a couple of thin icy patches. The snow in the long-term forecast for Saturday may buy us a few more days. :)

  7. There may not be a lot of snow in Freddy but I went to Kouchibouquac Saturday and the conditions were fabulous!

  8. Conditions were surprisingly decent in the Woodlot yesterday evening. Light dusting of snow over a hard base. Just one spot had to take my skis off and walk on the trail in from Kent's.

  9. Skied the "Loop" this afternoon on slightly soft snow and without having to take my rock skis off. Good snow coverage, no water, some ice where trees provided a canopy and on the hill on the Front Road trail (parallel to NM Hwy)

  10. Skied the loop and Beaver Pond at noon, it's work, but all good. Should be skiable all weekend.

  12. Skied the woodlot late this morning and conditions were faster than yesterday given the cooler temperature.
